Description of services

Community social service workers provide services to women, children and families, youth, people with physical or developmental disabilities and First Nations in towns across British Columbia.

This includes: staffing group homes for people with developmental disabilities; counselling, support and parental guidance to children and parents, counselling, advocacy and support for victims of violence, life skills training, immigrant services, staffing transition houses, assistance and support to First nations families and early childhood education.

CSS Union Bargaining Association
All unions certified by the BC Labour Relations Board to represent workers in the community social services bargaining unit  are members of the CSS Union Bargaining Association.  Unions in the  association bargain the collective agreement and administer the contract between negotiations.
